Business Analyst at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

The section for operational support and analysis is tasked with developing and managing the client administrative systems for probation, remand, and prison to support client-related work and provide functional system support for users, as well as meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders for quality-assured information.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To fit the role of business analyst, we believe you have solid experience from client administrative tasks in prison/remand. We also believe that you feel comfortable explaining to others how the work with more complex executions functions where you work or have worked within the prison and probation service. In the role of business analyst, you will use your experience in corrections and your knowledge for the management and development of system support and assist employees who use it in their work. The work will also involve participating in various development assignments where you, together with colleagues, analyze the needs of the operations and translate these into requirements, as well as conduct tests to ensure that the system support meets expectations in connection with development and change.

The position is located at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's headquarters in Norrköping within the national department for prison, remand, and probation, with the possibility of placement in Stockholm or Malmö at one of the regional offices.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree or other post-secondary education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant for the position
• Several years of experience from work within the core operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in prison and/or remand
• Solid experience of working in several of the sub-systems of the Prison and Probation Register, with in-depth understanding and ability to translate system functions into practical guidance for others
• Very good knowledge of the sentencing process, penalty system, and correctional legislation
• Excellent ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
• Good computer skills

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience of working in projects/assignments
• Experience of working with cross-authority issues within the justice system
• Experience of managing system support, routines, and/or governing documents
• Experience of process mapping
• Experience of working in various roles within prison and/or remand
• Experience of developing and/or conducting training
